FEL: Is this typical or normal?

I've got a little over 10 hours on the new 'bota, and I noticed that the little O-rings that are on the actuators for the four hydraulic cylinders for the FEL all stay out at the end of the shiny part of the actuators.

I've pushed them back into the groove around the working end of the hydraulic cylinders, but they won't stay.

This doesn't seem right to me. I would "think" that they are there to keep dirt from getting inside or wearing the outside of the actuator, or the inside of the cylinders.

So I think this may be a warrantee issue? Or do I need to be more agressive in pushing them back in? Any special tool to do this?

GlueGuy, our cylinders may be made differently. I don't know how you could have an o-ring coming out of the end of the cylinder, but I think I'm safe in saying they should stay in the cylinder; not move out with the rod. I'd ask my dealer about that.

I also have this situation on my new B21.
I'm seeing the dealer next week and will ask him.

That O-ring was used in assembly for painting purposes (to keep the paint out of the seal). It now serves no purpose on your tractor. You can remove them and cause no harm.

I guess that would explain why I hadn't seen one there; my dealer must have removed them before delivery./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I just removed one of those O-rings and wow what an explosion! Hyrdaulic fluid everywhere!!!
