Tractor
Case 830
Gentlemen:

This is my first post and need your advice and help. I am about to build a FEL for ths tractor but have been told that it does not have regular frame. This looks to be true so does anyone have any picture of a 1966 Case 830 that show how the frame for the FEL is attched to the tractor. Iam guessing that a sub-frame is built that attches to the rear end assembly and mid point on the tractor, and from here the vertical posts are mounted that support the loader arms. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Derek

Welcome!

Can't offer specifics on the 830. I suggest you keep your eyes open and when you spot an old tractor with an FEL, get your camera out and snap some pics. A lot of the old tractors had FELs that attached at the rear over the rear axle.

Isnt the 830 a totally different tractor than the 990 ? The 830 is of old American heritage, where the 990 was a rebadged David Brown ? I dont have any experience with American Case because the Case name was unknown here untill they took over IHC, which was a very famous name on this side of the pond.
Over here there is just a small cult of DB people, all other folks hate them because of their numerous design flaws.

The 830 was a USA field tractor available as a row crop or standard "Wheatland" types. 80ish hp. Available with direct drive trans or "Caseomatic" torque convertor trans. Still some around running lift pumps or hay machines. Granddad had a 630,730, and an 830 at different times...

The David Brown is a UK transplant. I've only seen a few around Arkansas...
