FEL Float Detent Issue

/ FEL Float Detent Issue #11
I had the same issue, the dealer replaced my loader control valve.
Yikes. That may have been a rather costly fix. 98% of the time the detent ball(s) and springs(s) are just gunked up. One percent of the time it may be sticky linkage. Either problem can cause it to go in or out of float with difficulty, OR can cause it to NOT stay in float without holding it there.

I should clarify. I didnt take apart the loader control. The the plastic housing under the joystick. Its made of plastic and was binding up a bit. I tore it all apart, cleaned it, lubed it, and put it all back together again. That seemed to fix the issue.

When it was sticky, it felt like it was in the joystick, not the control valve, if that makes sense.
Mine started to require extra force to pull back out of the detent a while back. I pulled the joystick boot up and cleaned everything and then left a pretty liberal amount of grease around everything in there and it's been good since.
