Wondering if anybody has made one that can give me some direction. I am in the process of adding forks to my FEL. I have the frame and quick attach / detach system worked out for the forks. I can use same frame but need to add a pole to lift higher. What I need to do is lift about 16 feet. Loads will be light. Need help with the geometry of this thing. Did a search but found nothing helpful. Going on a M5700.

thanks

There is a reference to a fel boom pole on one of the pole barn threads. If I recall the guy adapted a 3pr hitch to his fel and hooked it that way. I have also seen a boom pole, with the rear end made of channel that the forks just slide into. Seems like the fastest way to do it to me.

I posted my boom pole project in Boom Pole for QuikTach and Three Point Hitch. In one of the replies it was suggested that the angle iron was not adequate for the supports, and after a few days use I must agree. I will probably be substituting some 2" pipe for the angle iron supports.

Some scrap 3" I-beam and box to fit your forks make a simple boom pole.

The box is 4' and the I-beam is 10'. On my tractor (Branson 2810) max height is 19' 6" (3' off front bumper) 16' (6'8") and 12' (11'4").

This is mine, see attached. It is made at Quality Welding. http://www.qualityweldingservice.com/liftboom.html

Very handy nice and It will reach about 20’. You have to be careful if you put a lot of weight on it … you also have to put a lot of rear weight. KennyV.

Kenny,
I like your design. It looks like a factory job. How high does it lift?

Here is a picture of one I just made to lift the trusses up on a new building. Made out of 3' square for the frame and 2: for the pole.

Works pretty good but is a pain to change, wish I had a quick attach

Guy
