I'm not sure I have a favorite tool. I have some I use lots but just to name one would be a good 3/8 drive socket set. :D:D

Then again I really like my chain saws when they make noise so???:D:D

Final vote will be all my tools and if I'm forced to pick just one it would the wooden mallet I turned myself from maple cut out at "The Farm".:) :)

Pulp hook. If you handle logs or firewood, makes picking up and moving the wood much easier.

Thought about that for a little while. The tool I find most often in my hand is my Leatherman "Super" that I bought many years ago. Have used it lots and it is still in good working condition. The nylon belt holster is nearly worn out though.
Part of the reason for it being most often in my hand is that it is always right there within easy reach. It might not be the very best tool for the job but still much better than no tool.

Brandoro I知 with you. Mine is Gerber Recoil. It痴 with me all the time when I知 not in my Sunday best.

A short handle 2 lb hammer. You take a normal hammer and cut off about 5"-6" of the wood handle. It fits in more tight spaces than you can think of. A mechanic friend of mine from 25 years ago, accidentally broke his hammer handle and said the shorten handle was the most useful hammer he has ever used. I, later, cut my handle and it is the most used tool I own. It increases your accuracy too, for hitting punches, chisels or tapping in roll pins, etc. Just buy a cheap $5 hammer and try it. Actually, grap the handle close to the head, wear it feels comfortable, then saw the handle off right behind your hand.
Someone told me once at a flea market that you called that a "chub"? Dunno' about that for sure but I have a 2lb hammer shaped like a sledge with a short handle that I bought that day and indeed it is handy.

As far as favorites, that is a tough one for a tool junkie. I picked up a Hitachi 14V Lithium Ion impact driver a few months ago and I find myself using that tool a lot. It is a lot more compact than my Milwaukee 18V driver/drill which is now mainly used for drilling only.

A blue B&D adjustable workbench. (One of those things with the two wind-in handles). When i received it as a gift about 30 years ago I thought it would probably sit in the corner and never get used. But its now had an amazing amount of use. Its splattered in paint, full of drill holes, had bits accidently cut off, and is generally a mess but its still works just fine. I've built decks, sheds, pergolas and boats with it. For outdoor woodworking its invaluable. But like any tool you have to get in the habit of actually bringing it out and USING it to appreciate how handy it is.

Years ago, a Ridgid Tool distributor gave me a 6" pipe wrench. That thing has proven to be handier'n a shirt pocket over the years.

Those also work as mini hammers. Was it an aluminum one?:D

Forged steel. I've got an aluminum Ridgid 24" "non sparking" pipe wrench under the seat of the truck.

Why is everyone on here so obsessed with HAMMERS???? ;)
