Farmtrac 360DTC Won’t Shut Off

Howdy
Put new starter on. Had wires reversed and it wouldn’t shut off until we stalled it. Fixed wires.
Then it would turn over fine and run but wouldn’t shut off so I took the fuel solenoid out and grounded it. While turning the ignition key to see if solenoid worked, it cranked with solenoid out and had to stall it again.
Is this:
Fuel shutoff solenoid?
Bad starter relay?
Bad ignition switch? (For several attempts, there was only slight click sound at starter. Nothing at fuel shutoff. Then today it cranked easily but would not shut down.)
Any ideas ? We will try anything.

Worn rings allowin engine to run off lubricating oil?

Don’t think so. Runs smoothly. No smoke at all. I suspect ignition switch but all five wires are soldered on. Asking for ideas first. Thanks

Might have a bad ground, check the ground wire to the frame.

bout have to have it wired up wrong

Reminds me of the time the parts house sold me the wrong starter solenoid for my old F250. Once it started cranking, it didn’t want to stop.
