Around 2 weeks ago I experienced a part failure on one of the crampons that I was wearing while walking on ice which caused a fall resulting in a trip to the ER the next morning, a fractured/displaced patella, 6 weeks in a knee immobilizer, and months of anticipated PT. By the time I am waling outside again it will be Spring or at least Mud Season.
dalola- Those cleats are of a similar design and hopefully heavier duty than the ones I purchased. Yours also have that crosspiece in the front. I'd keep my eye on that wire.
Thanks for the link.
dalola- I was walking my dog in the dark by headlight. We've done this walk on ice many times before. Had that part failed farther along my intended walk and considering the injury and temperature at the time of the part failure I might not be posting now. Those crampons were less than a week old. I did not inspect them well enough.
Again thanks for the link and the pictures. I like the design and the pictures too.
BTW EnergeticSky is a Chinese company despite their website's vague Oregon address.
How's everyone handling the ice problems. My wife just took another fall. Patches of Ice walking out the door to our vehicles are bad.
