My double tipped carbides on my cat hm415b (a fae painted black) have 200 hrs on them. I was thinking bout replacing half of them with single tipped carbides to get a better cut on harder trees, and then I would always have fresh teeth on least half anyway. Then in another 200 or so hours replace the other double tipped with new. Has anyone ran singles and doubles on the same drum with a fae? If so did it work or was there a balance issue? I've done it before on my old fecon but it was the paddle style drum an didn't have any issues because of the teeth being in straight rows vs spiraled round the drum like the fae.
I've tried running Quadco chippers and Quadco carbides on my 140 it has a fae drum, felt fine but there was a slight vibration tho after bout 50 hrs lost my drum bearings.

I don't believe cat will warranty the bearings or drive if all the teeth.arnt the same...... That issue has come up a bunch with the 315's. And they never balance out right.
