JD f935
Hello,
I have a f935 that was cutting just fine and as i was going along the PTO/blades just quit turning. Now the tractor won't start unless you jump the starter. It is like the tractor thinks the PTO is engaged but it isn't. Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix?

How old is it, what is the serial #.

serial # on engine is ch3029d056840. Is that the one you seek? and i believe year model to be around 1990, not sure, bought it used. Worked great last summer. this first problem. 72" deck hope this helps you answer my needs

Need the serial # of the unit, you find it on the right side frame rail beside the engine. The reason I ask is they changed the system for the mower/pto engagement. You likely have a lever to engage the mower. It uses a electromagnet to hold the mower engaged plus a switch on the lever system under the seat that keeps the magnet energized. My guess is the switch failed, got knocked out of adjustment or the wire disconnected or broke. If you lift the seat you will see the system that engages the pto. You will also see a switch attached to it. I would start there. Does the pto light function properly on the right console?

Glad to help, these JD mowers are a first class mower and are quite easy to work on. I did have issues of parts availability on some items otherwise I would still have mine. Keeps them serviced and they will last a very long time.
