The little things like the man step and the way the tail gate operates on the fords and the titans are very nice options, Dodge should of started years ago putting them on their trucks
No they shouldn't. These little gimmicks are cute for the "truck" buyer that wants a pickup to go to the mall with low bed height, man step, a soft light tailgate, etc... but gimme a break! What's next a push button on the remote that lowers the tailgate for you like the soccer mom vans?
I hate those tailgates with the springs and torsion bars. They are so slow to open, you need to pop the latch then wait for it to slowly lower plus they can be a pain to remove.

How is that any different than any other one?

Must be something different about Dodge's, cause they are high lighting it in the sales nomenclature. Not sure what though.

My dodge doesn't have a tailgate or a "man step". Does that mean I shouldn't let my kid use it to move the pop-up around the yard

Since you truck dont have a tailgate, then there is no place to put a so called man-step.

This is my man step, notice the grab handle on the rack above. Makes it very easy to get in and out sometimes several times a day. Makes 3 steps to get into bed, step-bumper-bed.

Have broken a few over the years backing into things, but well worth it.

The step on my service truck is a "break away" type.. Used on alot of the larger construction and mining equipment.
Its made of steel cable for the uprights that are connected to a step at the bottom. If you run over something or back into a curb, it just gives...

Yep... I can remove my tailgate in just a few moments..

Yeah I've seen them, if i break many more I might consider trying one.
These are the steps you would get for a pick up to get in the cab, so they come 2 to the box :)

I can remove the tailgates in my Fords in just a few seconds also. Never tired or needed to on the Nissan.

I would much rather wait 5 seconds for the tail-gate to lower nice and smooth than slam down. I guess the Dodge guys like Dmace are hurrying up before that truck gives out on them.:D

That was a good one, why is it on here when people make wish cracks about Ford, Chevy, and Dodge, most of the Chevy guys gets so pissed, I take alot of it with a grain of salt.

 Watch it Chris,
I got a buddy with a Silverado not sure of the year but the truck is in very good shape, EXCEPT both rocker panels are completely rotted out from front to back!

I asked him "what's up with that" he says it's a chevy, they all do it.
I was thinking of you and said to myself, really, I thought only Dodges rotted out like that

Was gonna post a picture of it just to prove it :)

Ford guys have to apply "gorilla snot' to the head gaskets, Dodge guys use it on the HVAC controls.. GM guys claim to have an Allison, only to realize the gorilla snot is usaed to hold the "allison" tag on the GM trans....
Its funny that all three are so brand loyal to Ford, GM, and Dodge.... but until 2011, NONE of them built their own diesel engine.....
The POS HVAC is mainly built by delphi...... The differential are usually dana/spicer or aam.. NONE of them build a decent front suspension for the diesel P/U's... why? they are all the same parts maunfacturers...
Makes me wonder WHAT we are so brand loyal about??????.....
