Glad to hear you are still tracking the problem down.
My 3680 should be shipping to Barlows, the odd ball sized steering tire(18x9.5-8) was the the missing one delaying shipment.
Wonder if yours gets its pressure for steering differently than the others?

I asked if yours had came in yet and he said no. Maybe soon. Steve said Kubota Regional rep is due about any time and he'll have him come out and look at it. Steve mentioned 2 different posabilities of what he thought could be wrong but he said it needs fixed and I agree..

this sounds like the steering cylinder is leaking internally, the dealer should have fixed this a long time ago.

John the solution to your problem is to trade in the side discharge 3080 for a rear discharge 3680. That would solve both of your problems.
Mine is finally at Barlows, should be delivered next week. Check it out if you have time. Would have posted earlier but lost phone and internet last night after a thunderstorm. Finally got service restored.

Steve called and Reg rep said it was probably the steering servo motor and a new one is on the way. I'll check out your new one when I go by. Can't see a need for me for a 36hp. I had a F2680 that would have went up a wall if it could have gotten traction and the 2 F3080s have never had any problem with lack of power and 6' decks on my property and some places are almost straight up. I'll leave the 36hps for you.:) You are in Tn so you probably need them.

True, but I did not say what size deck (think 102 inches). Then when you try it out and report on the performance, we (loyal front deck & John Thomas fans) can be on the lookout at Barlows for a good trade in later after your writing it off on taxes.
Hope you got over there today, should be south bound tomorrow.

Sure, 102" deck that costs more than a zero turn. I do have lots of trees and read about a Grove one time in a landscaping book so I've planted a Grove of trees close together on purpose and have to be careful in my young grove to not hit some of them with my 6' deck so 102" won't be on my plate. I still do some scalping with my 6' deck but eventually it will all be cut down, except my different surface plantings of limestone which are taking a lot of time to get that top layer removed.:mad::eek:
I did not go by Barlows yesterday, going by Wed (tomorrow) to check on my steering servo motor arrival and was going to look then and maybe hide a fish some where on your motor or paint a Blue UK basketball some where under it.

Stopped by Barlows today and Marvin said he had already delivered your new F. Day to late. My servo motor is in, Gary pulled it out of the delivery box just about as I was coming in. It will look better or at least work better on my F than in the plastic wrap. Gear drive on one end and 4 hyd fittings on the other end. Asked if I could install it and the concensus was probably but wouldn't want to. Guess the removal of stuff to get to it is a bit of a job and of course putting it all back on properly. I'll wait.

Thinking while breaking in my new mower, were you in high or low range (rabbit or turtle) when you had problems? Also what air pressure do you run in the steering wheels ?
New mower ran great, did have to set deck cutting height to 4.5 inches. Should have told Barlows how high I cut the ground cover. Parked it next to the older one, am going to have to do more than blowing grass and dust off the older one, may have to wash and wax it.
Put 5.1 hours on the baby yesterday cutting about about 4 acres, had to do a fair amount of double cutting in the 12 inch or taller areas.

I always run in turtle and the recommended auto 4wd. I've put it in the "other" 4wd once to see if any difference and couldn't tell any. I keep air pressure to manual specs.
I to noticed one day that my 3 year old maybe needed a wax job as the bright orange isn't as Bright.:)
Grass here this time of the year gets really tough and since I don't mow as often as people with "lawns" I have a few places that I have to hit twice to get the "lawn" appearance. Guess tall grass in the late summer is preparing for winter and gets really tough and thick stems. Maybe the key is to mow blades of grass instead of stems of high grass.
