Yanmar F215
I'm new to Yanmar and I've just bought an immaculate F215 which does everything great. But the only instruments that work are the Tachometer and the parking brake light - fuel guage, temp gauge, and all other red lights don't do anything.
I assume my first step is the fuses but to save me taking things apart unecessarily can someone tell me where the fuse box is? Or any other suggestions ( I think the panel may not be original as Yanmar 255 is written on the tach). Thanks

Post up a pic so we can see how it looks and we'll probably be able to help better. On my 1602D, it's on the left side, below the instrument panel.
And Welcome to TBN!

Since all the problems are with electrically operated gauges, I'd suggest bitting the bullet and pull the instrument panel. Could be the instrument cluster is unplugged.

While I have a nice tractor and all is working great, I had a problem with one of the gauges and when taking a look I found that the instrument cluster had been replaced. They didn't just unplug everything but cut all the wires. After some work found a bad connection for the circuit I was having trouble with.

Sorry Ernie, I know this wasn't your doing.

Thanks for the help - found the fuse box - the 5A fuse had blown. Changed fuse and all instruments worked okay until I started the engine then the battery light stayed on until I revved up and then the fuse immediately blew. I then checked Voltage across battery with engine on and off - both readings were the same at 13V. What and how should I next check - I assume its the regulator or alternator or both. Many thanks.

New to Yanmar, and TBN. Great site, Great People. Really helped me in decision to buy/purchase price. Tnx to all!

Ref this thread:
I Recently bought an F215. The Instrument Panel on it appears original equip, yet is also imprinted "Yanmar 255" on panel (Like yours). I truly don't think it a replacement, and other than taking the good advice given by other contributors (ie: checking fuses/connections) I suspect the '255' moniker is nothing to be concerned about.

My F215 was purch in Ore, has 1200hrs on it, and has a new Chinese (JDL?) "clamshell" FEL. While it is not in perfect cond and looks like it has been stored outside for a while, it runs great & appears to be quite solid.

Any advice re: YM model cross-ref and/or good dealers/info/parts & repair sources most welcome!

The F series was not sold in the US, so it doesn't cross to any US model. I can supply you with parts, but many of them I will have to source from Japan.

Welcome Gonzo.

Ernie's imports up in Molalla (NE of Salem) usually has anumber of F series and can supply you with parts. Has a few parts tractors for those hard to find items. Ernie is a good guy to work with. Know there is another dealer in N Calif but can't think of their name.

There are a number of good dealers here but I'm mentioning the ones I know that aren't TOO far away.

I think the next Yanmar enthusiast south of Ernie, at least who posts on TBN, is Dave's Tractor of Red Bluff. He is becoming a big Mahindra distributor but I wouldn't be surprised if he still has a Yanmar hidden in back as his personal favorite.

Realistically, I think Ernie will have the broadest stock of F-series parts in this region.

I haven't found anyone working on Yanmars south of Dave's until you get another 500 miles south, clear into Southern California.
