Thats really great Tom!

Btw i had a 2014 extended cab 4x4 with the 3.7L and it was a solid work horse. 80k miles, no problems but was not great with a trailer. That being said, i flogged that truck and frequently overloaded it and it always did the job.

15 years old, now with all the stuff you can just walk into a showroom and write a check, my old Termi is it is nothing special. Fast enough for an old fart.

Mine's a 2010. At that time, the 4.6 V8 2V seemed to be the best deal overall. The V6 of that era is rather high revving. I can go at interstate speeds and stay below 2000 RPM. At any rate, it only has a bit over 35K, garage kept, and wouldn't make economic sense to trade for a little better performance.

My stepson has an 4.6L 2006 (135 K)and we plan on running it into the ground. We had to put a 9.75 rear end into it.

Also eats suspension parts and brakes. Runs ok.

No personal experience but I got a new F150 recently with the 5.0. From what I致e read it will do fine. Compared to the other engines in the lineup it痴 pretty weak but when you look at its numbers it痴 pretty strong. Unless you are towing heavy you will like it.

My 1980 F2510 400 ci, 6.2L engine made 130 hp. LOL. This new F150 with a 3.3L can out pull, out haul, and out whatever that old 3/4 ton truck.

The base 3.3 F150 is a very capable truck for light duty use. As others mentioned, would out-perform many V8 trucks from years back. Should yield great gas mileage, and have very reasonable ownership (maintenance) costs. The 3.3 still uses the 6AT, vs the new 10AT for all the other engines. The 6AT is a solid performer as well, I currently have that in my '15 2.7 XLT, and it's been bullet-proof in 40K miles so far, along with the engine. All the current engine options for the F150 are solid, and can be well matched to what you intend to do with the truck. If you've never driven the 2.7 Ecoboost F150, it will blow your mind. The performance coming out of 164ci is crazy. I originally test drove mine thinking it was a joke. I don't think my mouth closed for at least 30 minutes. Will be swapping leases for an '18 model this spring, and yes, it'll be another 2.7.
