Actually buying from Amazon can save you a bunch compared to buying from Everlast, when you hit an Amazon mess up. Of course it's rare, and kudos to Mark because he'll actually post about it.
That's how I got my EVERLAST PowerArc300 300A IGBT ARC Stick Welder for $280, back in 2014.

Mark can you offer up your feelings on the hatchet 60 or Powerplasma 52i as far as what is not listed on the website. I would only be doing manual by hand cutting so the hachet 60 not suitable for CNC does not bother me at all.

The hatchet offers the best cut capacity and price. The 52i offers a bit more duty cycle ,60%, at max output vs. 35% of the hatchet. But at 50A, duty cycle is the same for both. The 60 is much simpler in operation.

Hi Mark,
I am interested in a "smallish" MIG machine. NOT totally ready to buy at this moment. I am a NUBIE hack welder (have a Miller Stick), but I find myself wanting to weld thin wall sq. tubing, and other "small diameter" metals. Projects are numerous and it is more a hobby than anything.
I am befuddled by a few things that I should research but have not gotten to it yet. I would like the capability to use flux core as well as solid... I think ?
Things I do not know would fill an encyclopedia, but include:
- on the 120V machines, what is the power plug needed, same for a 240v
- I would assume to use the argon/co2 eventually. Just need to find out what bottle I could buy that my local AirGas would fill. I would rather not lease a bottle and I do not know what size bottles / rating / ... they would fill. Confused about this also.
- It would be good to have a machine that can handle 8" spools also.
Any advice would be appreciated.
