Bad news for me it would seem.
I'll be 79 in 2 months.
Been using leaded gas for years, and many hundreds of chainsaw hours.
A few thousand hours of burning 115/145 too.
If I had only known.....
As a result, I suppose I should expect to die before 100.
Bummer!

I eat mushrooms, and oysters too!

The effects of lead are real. There was a noticeable increase in the average IQ of Americans when lead was banned from auto gas. Some people are more affected than others, some show almost no ill effects: We had one guy at work who could just about eat lead, and still never had issues in any one of the blood tests we did from time to time for employees who worked in that department. Others had to be disqualified from working in that department because it seemed no matter what precautions they took, their blood levels shot up into the caution range. (Children are especially susceptible, since their brains are still developing.) You may be one of the lucky ones who can metabolize lead easily, or you just never got much exposure. For others, why take the chance if you don't have to?

I would have a really hard time believing that statement. From observing people in general for the last few decades. I would say the average IQ has dropped at least 20 points. If you don't believe it just look at the national news. An awful lot of people nowadays could not pour pizz out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel. I don't see any increase in IQ. *

Me either. People can't even figure out how to make change in a simple money transaction without an electronic device with a keyboard telling them what it should be..

Brain exercises are a good thing..

91 Octane in Boat, Pontoon and the Harley’s.

87 Octane in UTV’s, ATV’s, Lawn mowers and everything else.

If I store anything with gas in it the tanks are full or empty because 87 with ethanol is nothing but a sponge for water when sitting for a long period of time, less air in tank the better when it comes to storing with 87 and I rotate all my extra gas in my gas cans every 6 months or so depending on how much backup fuel I use. I do use Mercury Marine fuel additives with the stored 87 Octane fuel.

Go thru a drive through and give the person 11.27 for something that is 6.27 and see what look they give you. I’ve had to tell them to just give me 5 back because I don’t want all the ones..I know I shouldn’t be so mean.

Dallas (and many other locations) are not allowed to sell ethanol-free gas in the summer. I use one of the ethanol-eater additives (does not really get rid of the ethanol but disperses it so it can be used a little better.). It does not directly address the problem of rubber attack but it is the best I can do for 6 months unless I want to drive 90 miles to get out of the ozone-affected zone.

And that's why we're leaving Fort Worth for Parker County...the Hudson Oaks Walmart sells 87-octane EFree and I get as much as I can on every trip to the property!

This may not be the correct forum but will post it here.
A friend traveled to Mississippi and not familiar with the pump's at the truck stop. Did not notice the line with small hose wasn't Deisel and filledl 30 gal into his tank of DEF. Thinking could pull awahy from pump to side and drain .the cummons ran about 50 feet and water lamp came on engine quit.
Called local dodge repair shop they disconnected trailer and pulled his truck to shop. it had ruined the injector pump and injectors they gave entimate of 15 thousanf for repair. Called his insurance co. they gave him enough to purchase another truck bought a Ford King size 3/4 T pickup.

Once in a while some one will put gasoline in there deisel tank causing it to run hot . 1st time anyone not noticing the DEF sign.

Truer words were never said! What I've concluded from my observations also.

All you have to do is watch the evening news, see the BS that so many people actually believe, and you have to wonder how many people actually use their brains rather than just accepting the crap that is being fed them as truth. I'm with Mr Spock...show me the logic!

Yes!

I have had them argue with me over this. Not drive thru, but cashiers.

Cashiers are there because they aren't capable of doing anything else. I've resisted the "self checkouts" but I'm tired of trying to correct somebody's mistakes. More and more I'm starting to see the merit of cashierless checkouts, online shopping, and not doing business with the rinky dink small town stores which I've tried to support all of my life. Last week I had to go back to the grocery store to return $10.00... what made it so tough was that two months earlier I had wasted 15 minutes with the same cashier in a fruitless attempt to recover a 60 cent overcharge. She didn't believe that my receipt was right...

And....... I live in a 289 year old house that is covered (inside and out) with lead paint.
I am obviously doomed to die!
Sure hope my IQ doesn't reach zero before I get there.

I have started to use these, If I wanted cold items in with hot items I would let them bag it..

Do you eat the paint? Like asbestos, as long as there aren't particles for you to ingest or inhale you aren't at much risk.

What bugs me is when you have to wait for them to stop talking with their friends, and they still screw up your purchase.
