Just wondering if anyone has heard of anyone putting a John Deere engine in a NorTrac tractor?

What size NorTrac? What size John Deere? If the dimentions are close should not be that difficult. Just need an adapter plate between NorTrac transmission, and John Deere Bell housing bolts. If you have 4wd, the front driveshaft must be lengthened the same amount as the thickness of the adapter plate. The plate should not need to be any thicker than a 1/2 inch. All hoses, wires, fuel lines have more than that for the stretch. The only thing that will give you a hard time will be the hardline hydrualic suction line. As mine is solid from the tank to the pump. Just make sure that the John Deere also has a two stage clutch. First stage for the drive. The second stage for the pto. Just my thoughts on it. I have a NorTrac 254 It's a 2008. Just short of 1,000 hours. I like the engine. Just woundering why thy swap?
