Electronic ignition for JD 110?

Hey all,

Have a John Deere 110, interested in installing an aftermarket electronic ignition. The guy I bought it from was an advanced tinkerer, and had said I can go to any auto parts store, get a small coil, and install it, which would take care of the fouled points/worn magnet problems that make my little tractor hard to start at times.

Any experience there? I would appreciate any expertise you can offer.

I had a coil go bad on my 210. I heard about this system, decided to give it a shot and haven't missed a beat in over 3 years. There' lots of info at the site. The system is called Pointsaver.
