electrical snag 2520

Hi guys
same snag as b4, can charge the battery but no charge off alt. Just changed up to 35 amp alt and regulator. And still not charging battery. Ground is good. And yes fan belt is on and tight b4 somebody mentions it. what voltage r these tractors supposed to put out anyway. In dire need of help here getting tired of running nothing and charging every few-8 turns of use.

Normal charging is 14.4 v dc.

Take the alt off and have it checked at shop like uap napa, az or your flavour of choice. I think most parts stores will do it free of charge. You don't need to tell them its JD, cause they may be able to get the parts.

Just realized you're from Canada, try Canadian tire, they do free testing.

If alt/reg is good after teest it has to be an open circuit between the alt/reg and the battery. Good luck.

First of all narrowed down to switch have a couple of snags, heard heater(glow plug) but no light and bulb was good, 4x4 light burnt out. brake light not illuminating, also initial not charging. So kootoo's to green diamond for eating shipping cost from Milan for ignition switch to speed up the repair. Let u know net week

hi guys been a while. i'm so happy with my 2520 now. electrical well multi snag (main 4 wire plug replaced both sides, key switch replaced and 2 relays) all electrical works fine now. As for oil consumption i had the good john deere oil in it so i went back to the break in oil and worked it for 2 hours on the dino. 143 hrs i started box blading and working it hard breaking ground. Im happy to say it hasnt dropped any on the dipstick currently sitting at 155 hrs. previously it was using a half liter every 10 hrs


Tire rub_ rotated back tires out and bought a quick attach. Solved the problem of 3 pth rubbing.
