Electric Polaris Ranger

Just buy a golf cart (EZ Go) and call it good. Much cheaper.
Ezgo 500 amp control, 14hp long stack motor, Lithium 51V Battery goes everywhere I want to go for less.

Still got to charge it and the way the grid is going, that could be iffy.

We have his and hers carts. Both are set up similarly. We honestly drive them alot more than we charge them. and there has never been a grid problem out here. But I totally understand why somebody would want a big side by side. It's just not as convenient around the barn and house as a cart.

I'm feeling a bit salty with Polaris. The hydraulic lift broke on my EV dump bed. They ordered the part at the local dealership and are insisting that I bring the vehicle to the dealership to install this part which has two pins.

It's going to cost me sixty in fuel to haul my trailer over there and more importantly, I just had back surgery and cannot drive for at least two weeks.

First, that was some cheesy metal to snap off in under a year and second, that's just poor customer service.

Other than that, it's been a good year, but it's developed several creaks that greasing all the points I can find doesn't address.

Off to call Polaris.

Odd break for a casting that's mostly in compression. If the casting doesn't look defective, then maybe the cylinder is still pulling after the bed is fully down on the frame. In that case, the next cylinder may fail too.

Update: Had it for over nine years now and it is still fantastic!

I remember when you got that. We tried one out in 2011 and really liked it but ended up buying an 800xp gas since we have to cross a creek to get to part of our land. Glad you have had good service from it.

I can understand you being pleased with your Polaris EV, XFaxman. They are great rigs. I have had a Hisun EV for 4 years now. It is a 2017 model and I bought it used. It is pretty much along the same lines as yours. I absolutely love it. I charge it once a week or so if it needs it or not. I have never ran the batteries down to where it wont go. It is so nice to have a vehicle that has next to no maintenance, you don't have to worry if it will start in cold weather, doesn't require warming up. Lots of power. 4wd, winch... You just get in it and go. It is by far the most frequently used vehicle on our 45 acre property. I have put just under 1000 miles on it and it has never left our property! After using this for a few years, I wouldn't even consider having a gas UTV for use around our place. I was considering buying a golf cart before I stumbled across this Hisun, but golf carts don't have 4wd or the ground clearance, the range and power (golf carts have fewer batteries), multiple speed ranges, dump bed... all of which make an electric UTV far more versatile than a golf cart.

The part number is 7044675. It is $64.99 from the manufacturer. I'd spend more than that in diesel and time hauling it over the mountain to have the part replaced.

Once I realized that Polaris will not budge on the warranty "rule", I did a quick Google on the part.

And look here... An aftermarket fix.

And it adds a limiting cable.

We already drilled a hole in the end and Jerry rigged a solution while waiting on the part.

Not sure why I was so dead set on American made at this point.

Bunch of drones repeating the line of had to be installed by dealer.

Super unimpressed with Polaris.
