Electric hydraulic valve

I am using a electric solenoid valve to control my root grapple, The valve works fine, my
question is : If I leave the valve activated in the closed position will this cause a deadhead
condition in my hydraulic pump? I am using my power beyond port off of the FEL hydraulic valve to supply this solenoid valve. I am using a DPDT on off on toggle switch for control.

the entire pump flow will be by passed through the PRV at max pressure....100% of energy into HEAT!! HOT HOT HOT!!!
example....
10gpm at 2500psi= >> about a 14.6 hp(10.9kW) heater....enough for your winter house???

If you were to use a momentary switch, the valve would not be energized all the time, but only when you press the up button or the down button. In the switch center position, no voltage to the valve.

Yes.

I am using my power beyond port off of the FEL hydraulic valve to supply this solenoid valve. I am using a DPDT on off on toggle switch for control.

Get a new switch! (ON)OFF(ON) where the ON in () means momentary activation.
