Re: Egon\'s Millworks

A wooden mallet with a square handle? Don't believe I've ever seen one like that before.

Re: Egon\'s Millworks

The handle is a little rounded and the head is filled with lead. It's a one of product of the millworks Bird.

Great Job Egon;

What size is the band saw? Are you using 2-3 tpi with a deep gullet?

Have fun.

Re: Egon\'s Millworks

Egon,
You labled your picture "sawmill in action" but I guess you can't saw and take the pic at the same time, so I am interested in some more info on that set up. Do you have another post somewhere explaining this- like in the build it yourself section? How stable is the saw guide? and how do you hold it against the log? I presume the pic shows the blade in the up position because of the weight of the motor but it cuts in the down position? Do you use ripping chain?

Re: Egon\'s Millworks

I will need to get the extension, I have a bunch of resawing to do as well, but I do not have the throught size you do. Nice job. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bird, I could not help but think you never saw a "square peg in a round hole" either... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Egon...I'm turning green now...I want to do the same thing...but it is not practical...where I am... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

PS...it's not that little bit of Irish blood that is part of me that is causing this green problem either...I think it's the "I wanna be like Egon syndrome..." /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
