Anyone buy one of these? Wondering about the fit on my Massey subcompact. Also wondering how far back the movable/adjustable piece moves back out of the eay towards the dipper

No, but I do like the cast link. Mine is a weld on that I bought on eBay and I like it a lot and use it often. I am considering converting to hydraulic link but don't find it really inconvenient to use the manual, except when digging and occasionally needing the thumb to remove a rock or grab a root. I can usually curl the bucket and get them out anyway I use the hoe/thumb most often as my hydraulic saw buck when cutting a log to firewood length and for stacking/unstacking logs.

Something to consider is where to store your thumb's link when you want to fold it up out of the way. I welded pins onto one of my outrigger legs to put it on because there is no accommodation for storing it in the design of the thumb.

Oh, should mention, I had a BroTek bolt-on thumb on my B21's hoe and it also worked very nicely. My friend and TBNer drkrug had a problem with a bolt on thumb on, I think it was a Prairie Dog hoe bending or deforming the dipper arm.

Mine is pretty much like this one $145. I believe mine is a 21" though.
