First, I understand buy the best and cry once, but FOR THE MONEY has anyone experience with this tiller from Rural King? Attachments are all great, and a tiller I could use but at 73yo and probably 5 to 10 hours use a year...$630 for this 6ft one seems like a great deal.
I have a few pasture areas this along with my back blade would make it better.
It probably would be good for my compost bed occasionally. I probably would make a small garden spot also.
I called the closest Rural King (75M) and the 'attachment guy' I spoke with said yes...it's made in China, but they sold a lot of them and never had a single complaint. I think he said it was Titan (?). They are able to get parts if needed.
I looked at good ones but they're about $3,000 and the little I'd use it even $1,500 wouldn't be worth it.
Thanks in advance as always.

IF I were needing to do the work you describe, my bills would come out SMOKING for that unit.
But... I would be sure to walk every inch of what I planned to till and dig out every rock . Bent tines and torn up drives will make a man cry. Still, there is no guarantee a more costly unit wouldn't tear up just the same.

Check for fluid in the drive boxes, lube the chain. Go rip up some soil.

(For gardens, I've stopped tilling, Mulching is a much better way)

Titan doesn't manufacture anything. They are an importer and not an ethical one. (Not to be confused with Ironcraft, formerly Titan Equipment, they make their own stuff and sell through dealers.)

It looks like RK Tillers are made by King Kutter.

They sell lower-priced implements through many farm stores, including Tractor Supply, Atwoods and AgriSupply in addition to RK.

Like a lot of manufacturers, they source pieces all over, but assemble in the US (Ohio).

I'm thinking about getting a tiller next year. There are a few that have reversible action and aren't crazy expensive. Thinking along those lines for now.

King Kutter is an option, too.

Around here most any tiller will work - IF you can avoid the rocks.

I'd be willing to guarantee you or even bet you that one of my "more costly units" wouldn't tear up!

A REAL, more expensive tiller is made miles better/stronger.

I bought an Ironcraft last yr. It's a heavy built tiller and doesn't bounce bad in hard soil
