Well guys I needed a way to move small amounts of soil/rock that I've been digging up with my hoe, so I dug thru some inventory and built this. It consists of an Allis transaxle, a 5HP Briggs and a monkey Wards front axle with steering system. IT may not be pretty but it works well.

And what happens if you get off the machine with the dump bed fully loaded? The operator looks to be the ballast.

The bed is very slightly over center towards driver.

Looks like a clever use of materials. I'm guessing you built if from stuff you had laying around? I've thought about renting something like that for some jobs that I've bid on, but the jobs never happened, so it's still one of those things I haven't done yet.

LOL I have to agree, It looks like a human catapult to me too. Great concept though, I need one to move horse poop

What cain't be seen underneight is a 2"x6"x1/4" thick full length frame. I feel safer with this than some of the loads i've seen in FEL on small tractors.

Yes Eddie all parts were on hand. That transaxle was ment to be run from the flywheel side of engine, so running it as I am it still has 3 foward and reverse.

Cleatus, you must have the biggest pile of currently inactive inventory around. It amazes me some of the stuff you can come up with. That looks to be as handy as having a thumb. I spread 2 tons of granite dust this morning for a patio Vickie wants, and that would have made the job much easier.
One thing I have never figured out is how do you keep all those small engines running? I have a heck of a time just keeping one lawnmower running. I have the worlds worst luck with small engines. If I can see what is broke I can fix it, but most of the time with a small engine there isn't anything broke, they just don't want to run for me. Later, Nat

If I ever get stuck in space (like Apollo 13) I want you with me, so you can put something together to get us home!!!
With the ingenuity I've seen on these sites we should be planning a Mars mission not just working around in our yards.

The first time I looked at the photo I assumed you steered from the rear wheels by twisting your butt around-using the steering wheel for leverage.
After looking at it a few more times I think maybe I was right? or not?

Every time I look at the pictures, I get turned around.

I don't think anybody's even mentioned the ball hitch on it yet.

I'm impressed. That is flat out cool.

Thanks guys, I have more fun building than useing.

The ball hitch was for pushing the dump trailer that the bed came off of and it can go back with two bolts.

Here's a shot of trailer as I built it last year.

In the above pic you can see the tailgate catch/release rod running down the side. Just a twist. This is manual/gravity dump at this time.

We can also see the 'parts dept.' in the background!
