Dumb question on a cat

   / Dumb question on a cat #41
Our cat found us about 2 1/2 years ago. Vet said he only 6 or 7 weeks old. The next day we looked at the trail camera pics and there was a coyote. We guessed he was the only one that had survived from the litter.
One night he was moaning (he has not learned to meow) and would cry if we touched him. And he would not eat. Found a nearby all night emergency veterinarian. They took a lot of time and a few exrays and one showed he has dislocated right rear hip. $1100 later he has been running around like nothing happened.

That sir is a great story!

In my youth, my church wasn't a religion, but being out in nature was. God to myself back then was the nature I was beholden to for what He created.

I still struggle as a Christian why now that I'm older why God would created such a "nature" where the stongest survive, when Jesus Christ showed mercy.

I'd like to think the answer to my own question is God gave us brains to undertand compassion vs survival.

Because nature wasn't created that way to begin with when there was no suffering or death, but became that way only after sin entered creation.

I agree.

But if God made all animals including large 4 legged carnivores (including bears, tigers and wolves), what did carnivores eat before the forbidden tree of knowlege was eaten from from Eve?

I get the fact that perhaps carnivores could eat vegitation due to the will of God in the Garden, but if He changed the line of thinking on animals (those who kill to eat and survive), what line of thinking did He change on man?

Kind of no different that trying to figure out the return ratio on spending money on a ACL repair for a cat depending on how long the cat lives after the procedure;)

May I suggest not attributing a change in consequences that flowed from having sin and death enter a creation that was good to any change in thinking on His part.

I spent about $1,000 having surgery done on a cat some years ago who then lived to a ripe old age. I figured I had the money, and the cat was my responsibility.

Replacement cats are basicly free.
As witnessed by the 18 cats that have been dropped off here in the last 15 years. Needed to find homes for all of them but 7, which was more effort than dumping them I'm sure. Kept 7 out of those 18 cats. One gone to predation, one the vet couldn't save.
But the enjoyment pets bring is obviously priceless for many of us.
My wife still gets a big grin everytime the cats bring a mouse or gray digger to the door. Like I said, its priceless.
