Dual purpose mount plates (SSQA & 3ph)

I decided to build a tree puller and wanted to buy a blank mounting plate for use on both ends of my tractor. Is there ANYTHING that's on the market like this?

I built a land plane with SS on the back & 3pt on the front, but I'm guessing that you have only 1 "side" to work with.
That brings me to a 3pt to SS adapter I made.

I've never seen a "dual" set up will take either one, doesn't mean it's not out there.:thumbsup:

That is rather clever. Doesn't it really suck using SS stuff backwards though?

I should clarify, I don’t want an adapter, so I can keep the weight to a minimum. I recall seeing somewhere that a tree puller was made on a tubular frame that is mountable on either end of the tractor.

I may have to wing it if it comes to it but I’d rather try to have one already made for me to build off from. The SSQA points are tricky to build for me.

I modified my Land Pride forks to both fit my SSQA FEL and it's 3PH. It's not QA-compatible though, due tom having the 3PH lift arms clear the SSQA attachments on the tractor.

I modified the forks so I could carry an IBC full or nearly full of water.

It still works on the front end, as you can see here with my IBC-cage work platform, installing shop lights in my shop.

I built this tree puller to fit my SSQA FEL. Few years later I got a second tractor and wanted to use the puller on the 3pt. I added some simple tabs that aren't in the way of the SSQA. Works like a champ. To effectively use it on 3pt you need a hydraulic top link.

I built it for my JD that had their own style "quick hitch" that limits you to JD $tuff only. Traded that in for the Kubota with a ssqa, so it just was scrap metal to me at that point so I made it work on the 3 pt. It's handy for the forks when the loader is off for the winter (frame mounted snow plow), and I've played around with another plow on the back plowing each direction. Sometimes I'll put a bucket on to carry tools but I really don't use it much to be honest.

Call and ask if they will build you a plate for both ends: Buckthorn Puller - Custom built Skid Steer attachments to fit almost any need you may have.

Certainly not picking on the OP's original intent at all.

If I have the capability to build a puller, adding the SSQA part would be very easy. So why buy a plate that I then have to adapt to my puller design?

Walmart in the states carries everything. Thats awesome. You would never see anything like that in walmart in Canada

No offense taken at all, it’s a valid question.

It’s partly so I won’t have to fiddle with the figment and the ability to notch the bottom holes & bend the top catch plates. Figured I could “fast forward” things a bit.

No bending needed if you start with a square tubing frame. This is how they built my stump bucket:

Dual purpose mount plates (SSQA & 3ph)

I have one from Titan that allows me to use SSQA on the back.

I had to do some modifications (cutting and welding) to make it work with my Quick hitch though. Kinda pissed me off as they coulda made it that way with absolutely no extra cost or time.

Sure. My Land Pride forks are SSQA-compatible. I then modified it later to fit my 3PH. However, at the time, I did not have my QA, so didn't take the QA into account when I modified my forks. I mostly just made sure that the 3ph stuff didn't interfere with the SSQA interface.

I should clarify: I don't *think* it fits; but I haven't tried it yet. I got my QA on sale, then it turned cold around here last November and I haven't had to or needed to change from the 8' grader I have on the back right now.

Walmart doesn't carry it, they are just being a "marketplace" for the transaction. If you dig into it further it says "Sold and shipped by Titan Attachments."
They are doing this to compete with online sales from Amazon.

If anything, their actual stores have a lot less variety of brands now (very often just one or 2) compared to 10 years ago.
The saving grace is that they will often do free shipping to a store for pickup, and will accept returns at the store rather than having to pay for return shipping.

Awesome! I just may tackle the project myself! One mentioned about using corners of a steel tube but they are set at 90°. Confused.

The angle of the top piece and the angle of the bottom piece are not the same. And neither are 90 degree in relationship to the wall of the plate, or of the square tubing if that's what you use for your frame.

I built the basic frame. Then clamped it to the FEL SSQA. Then i used that to add the brackets to the puller. Very easy.

One more tip. When you add the jaws of the puller have the frame you just built fastened to your FEL. Have it adjusted so your bucket level indicator is in the level position and on the floor. Then add the jaws level. This lets you continue to use the level indicator as you do with the bucket on.
