Seeders Driveway Maintenance - Box Scraper?

Weight is your friend with a LP. Mine has 5/8" thick sides, that are a little higher than normal, and 1/2" thick angle iron for cross braces on a 7 foot wide unit. Is it heavy, YES! I often wonder what the city would stay if I actually drop it while crossing the road and it eats up their asphalt!

If the "city" were to say anything, it would likely be to question how the scratches got in their asphalt.
The only issue of any consequence would be lots of sparks as your 5/8" sides are being quickly ground down.

If you want to deal with the grass and loosen the base for finishing, make a couple of passes with a disc. Then, you can choose your weapon - rear blade, box blade, land plane, etc.

Okay, I've just read over this entire thread and it seems nearly unanimous that a Land Plane / Grader is the tool I need. So that's what I'm going to get. Specifically I've just ordered a Land Pride GS-25 in 72" width. My Kubota M7060 has almost exactly 6' tire width and my driveway (2 miles) is very narrow, so an 84" would just spill gravel off the sides. Thanks for all the input and help. I'll post some before and after photos once I get the tool in the shed and on my tractor.

Are you getting it with the scarifier shanks?

YES. The 72" model comes with 6. I definitely ordered it with those. Again based upon all the feedback I think it's the perfect tool for the job at hand. I'd rather get the right tool vs. something that only sort of does the job. This will be 100% for maintaining the gravel driveway. 2 miles. It's a lot of road to maintain.

Wow, is that guy running a race? I'd never have thought to run that so fast! I guess once you know what to do with it. . . ..! With a 2 mile drive though it's good to know it can handle a pretty good clip.

From what I have seen with many of these videos, the operators go way to fast and end up wondering why their equipment is torn up. Not saying that this is the case here, although much faster than I ever do mine, just seems like a common practice. :(

Not sure what the intent in that video was.
