drill bit sharpening

Names man, we need names!

The "Drill Doctor" brand actually makes them. Very expensive uni-tasker tools. I have a Drill Doctor and it's OK. I couldn't get the perfect sharpen, but they weren't dull either. Definitely a learning curve. I've since found a professional sharpening service and I now send everything to them. I'll get my entire bit set sharpened several times a year. They do free pickups too. Havn't use the Drill Doctor for years now, which is unfortunate.

I have a Drill Dr. Works OK. On bits smaller than 3/16 or 1/8 it's a waste of time and requires more "talent" than I have. There is a learning curve. I've resharpened many bits six or more times.

Biggest benefit - saves a trip into town if you are dealing with a specific bit size/type.

^ This.

Long drive to town for me and it seems I manage to screw up a bit when I'm in the middle of an important project. Drill Doctor to the rescue - at least it works well enough to get me by until I can buy a new bit.

I too suspected that something on the Doctor Stone had changed in just a few bits. If you didn't know better you'd think it was GERMAN Engineered or something.
