Drill doctor here too sharpens split points nicely if you do your part and set it up right.

Ive had mine probably 10-15 years now and still on the original grinding wheel which is replaceable if needed.

Ive got a Drill Doctor, i think its the 750, but not sure. It does up to 3/4 bits. You gotta love the ability to spit the point, they sure drill allot better that way. Got mine off of amazon.com with a free spare grinding wheel and free shipping. This is my second one, the first one only worked up to 1/2 bits. It will pay for itself really fast when your using the larger bits.

Is there a Northern Tool near you? If so they sell them. I've seen them listed on Lowes website but not in the store near me.

IIRC, I think mine came from Home Cheapo Depot.... for the 1/2 model around $100.

I got mine years ago through my Craftsman Club account. Can't remember the price, but I do remember I went home happy.
Ok, I just did a search at Sears. They have tons of DD stuff and it helped jog my memory. I think the price was 175 and I got it for 125. This is for the 750.
