My dog will sit like that, watching my horses. Sometimes he will be there for a couple of hours and if one gets too close, he will bark a few times. I'm sure he wishes my fence was not electrified, especially since he has been shocked a couple of times when the horses got too close to the fence and he thought he should correct them.
