As gruff as heelers are around cattle (mine is anyway), it is precious to see them a caring for a baby calf like that. Great pictures.

We aren't sure yet if he'll make it, he has respiratory issues. (Started a thread in rural living if you care to take a look)

My 10 year old blue male is a ruthless herder, she won't even try. I was majorly disappointed in her at first. (She wasn't cheap)

Then when the heifers started calving, we had a few calves that needed extra attention (which is par for the course with heifers) she stepped in as a motherly figure. She'll clean them from head to toe and lay with them until they return to their real mothers. So far all the cow have taken the calves back, something that several people said wouldn't happen after the dog licked all over them.

Not sure I I'll have any dog after I retire (5 yrs)
I really want to travel a bit (travel trailer) and I don't want to leave a dog in the trailer all day, or in a kennel back home.
I've never "not" had a dog (setter) though, in the last 37 yrs.

Hey sorry to bother you. I know you posted these photos ages ago. I randomly found your dogs photos while googling pit lab mixes. I was stunned at the resemblance. We have a 3 year old pit lab and are also in New Hampshire. I think it's possible our dogs are brother and sister. Did you get your dog from someone named Derek?

This is Jackson. He's a "LabraBull", 1/2 Lab and 1/2 APBT. Still a puppy at 9 months old, he's very playfull and happy. He's already proven to be the smartest and most trainable dog I have had. currently he's in intermediate canine good citizen training, we are hoping he will be able to become a certified threapy dog so my wife can use him to assist her with patient rehab in the county nursing home. The runt of the litter, he almost didn't make the first hour of his life.

Here's a few pictures, and no, he doesn't have a blue tongue, the girls shared a blue popcicle with him...

A couple of weeks ago we were visiting a friend who lives in an apartment building. We had our dogs with us and were walking down the hall and this woman is walking towards us and lets out a little scream and starts backing away from us. And then she starts laughing and tells us she thought we were walking a polar bear on a leash. One of our dogs is a white shepherd mix and when his coat gets long he does look kind of 'polar bear-y". I took a this photo the other day and thought...yep, time for a haircut. He's actually very skinny under all that hair.

Yup I've gotten that polar bear comment too......haha! The fence you see in the background is 7 feet high....because he was jumping the 5 foot high one when we first got him.......leaping over it like a freaking deer! ......Jack
