Does your BX24 "chatter" before starting?

As soon as I turn the key to the "on" position, before starting the engine, I hear a chatter similiar to a starter solenoid on a run-down battery. It sounds like relays activating somewhat randomly. It's not very loud and not nearly as loud as the single click I hear when I turn it off.

The proper lights come on and the engine starts and runs well. There don't seem to be any other problems. I'm just wondering if this (relatively quiet) chattering is normal.

It's the electric fuel pump.

Looks like I learned something! I've heard it for years, figured it was normal, but really didn't know what it was. Good thing it wasn't a bomb ticking
