I've got the same one from the same outfit, albeit in 54" width. The workmanship is a little rough, but nothing that could not be cleaned up with a little grinding, a few whacks with a big hammer and some spray paint. I thought about adding collars and zerks for the pivot points but it's overkill and low on the priority list. All in all a stout grapple, that has held up well yet is not too heavy and in my opinion a great value.

I notice the ad says, "2x8 TIE ROD cylinders". Are tie rod cylinders good, bad, or of little significance? Thanks.

Tie rod cylinders are generally cheaper, and subject to more damage because of the external hardware used to keep them together. They often have a lower PSI rating as well. They are easier to rebuilt however if they need it. I vote little significance in the big picture...

I'd think two cylinders is overkill unless you're crushing cars.

I only have about 8-10 hrs. on a 48" gator grapple but can't find a thing I'd change. Very satisfied. Fantastic tool!
