Richard, you are re-energizing me. I will try to get out this weekend weather permitting. Would be fun to have a drone video thread. Maybe TODAY'S DRONE TIME?

I was thinking about that couple days ago. You start it and I'll participate. Link it here so anyone stumbling onto this thread would go there. I'm in.

I'm just speculating but I would enjoy them while you can...it could be a short lived hobby...
...methinks if one is ever used to deliver an evil intended payload (broad spectrum of possibilities) there will be a complete grounding for civilian use...and their use will become more restricted than the use of firearms etc...

Darn, now I'll have to go out and buy one too!!!! There was a BIG A $ $ one at the gun show not too long ago... problem was 20 mph winds and everyone was having trouble holding down their tents. Saw them packing it all up about halfway through the first day...

There are already restrictions built into drones. As we progress that will increase. As to firearm comparisons. I can buy 20 semi automatic rifles tomorrow. So if drones go down that road everybody will have one!!!

You miss my point and the gist of my speculation...It's not a matter of if but when one is used for evil purposes...and methinks the henny penny powers that be will treat it like another "shoe bomber" (have you flown lately?)...

Sure they will be allowed in industry and law enforcement etc...etc....perhaps my analogy of firearms was a bit off...make it explosives...i..e, if you need some blasting done you have to hire a licensed professional...I think the use of sophisticated drones etc. will become much more restricted by individual civilians and if you need the use of one it will have to be done by a contractor...

I agree a Drone will eventually be used for evil purposes.

After you made that statement you sortta derailed. One million Drones were sold in the U.S. during the last holiday season (Christmas) alone. I think it's beyond banning them. The "henny penny powers that be" haven't been able to ban assault rifles. So they have plenty of "causes" to fight before they get to Drones.

It slightly alarms me when people associate terrorism to the tool in use during the act. :confused3:
