After the work day is done, more-so after on a non-cab tractor.... At times its mandatory part of the payment:D

First tractor company to invent a shock absorbing cup holder wins:D

Then eddie could have a "reserve" for when the one in his hand is empty:)

I've seen the kind of cup holder that can swivel left to right and front to back. Never saw it in action but did notice it.

A beer or two on the tractor is almost requisite while mowing. The only time I strictly impose a no alcohol rule is when I fire up the chainsaw. I just don't feel comfortable, even with just one.

The tractor I run at work has a can holder built into the a/c it holds one can and there is a can holder in the arm rest of the seat. I have used it for beer from time to time but I usually drink water but it does not work well in the a/c cooler.

Using the tractor "yes".
Mowing "no" just because grass gets in my beer, a ZTR throws alot of grass so I have to take short breaks between mowing.
Chainsaw, not before or during...only after the saw is put up.

Eddie; I don't see how you do it with your Scagg, I tried to just keep my hand over the top and failed miserably to keep the clippings out.

Gimbaled cup holders work on lawn chairs, carefully driven golf carts, carefully driven wheel chairs, boats in not too rough seas, or on-road vehicles with decent road surfaces. They will tilt to accommodate going up or down hill or pulling some lateral G's but bumps are not handled well. They don't work very well on a tractor that is driven on uneven surfaces. It doesn't take a speed bump to splash out your beverage.

I wish my Kubota had a beverage holder and it will... some day... I only have a little over 1000 hrs on it.

Man, what a thought provoking thread!

I say to each his own, including the youngster. It is hard to drink beer while using my tractor but I have had a couple before mowing before. Definitely after.

The weather plays a role too. When it is blazing hot I just want water and when it is freezing cold, the last thing I want is a beer. Having a few after working hard is very satisfying. Plus, like others have said, I start to get lazy if I start drinking beer. It is kind of a reward to work harder and finish faster! Plus, beer makes me pee all the time.

I won't begrudge anyone who partakes of the beer while on the tractor but it's not my thing. I've worked with plenty of people who do and one old fella I worked for for years started on the beer as soon as breakfast was done but I never saw him drunk to my knowledge.

I do enjoy the drink, beer or liquor, but not while working and rarely during the day. It's a "time and place" kind of thing for me.

There's a time and a place for everything...I've Definitely had my share of beer and then some in my time and I would Never look down at someone who drinks...I like to hoist 'em and will be the first one to buy...My own personal choice when running any power equipment has always been, when the tools are put away, then it's time to open the cooler.
