whats better than a liter of blackberry brandy while out snowplowing when its 9pm and 8 degrees? i also almost always have a beer while operating the tractor. i dont care what people say....i dont ever do anything dumb or irrational while drinking, never have, never will.

I've never done any snowplowing, but in January, 1994, I drove 350 miles to meet one of my brothers and an old friend to play golf one day. My brother came from 160 miles in the other direction and had picked up our buddy along the way. While it wasn't the kind of weather you northern folks are accustomed to, it was pretty cool for central Texas, and I took along a bottle of blackberry brandy. Before we finished the second 18 hole round, the brandy was gone, and I was too far gone to do any reasonable golfing the last 3 holes. Of course, there was no way I'd have drunk that much if we hadn't all 3 had our wives along that day, so I knew I had a driver to get home that evening.

I guess that was the last time I got drunk, and I haven't tasted blackberry brandy since that day, either, but I usually keep a bottle of brandy (usually peach) just for cough syrup and the bottle lasts several years. However, a couple of months ago, I bought a bottle of blackberry brandy again. It hasn't been opened yet, but when it is, I'll bet I don't drink very much at a time.

I used to smoke and drink and drive my tractor ,doing snow and going down in the woods and operate a chain saw without eyeglasses and hearing protection.The only time i ever hurt my self on a tractor was pushing out a tree branch that got stuck in the cab and slung me out like a catapult.I dont smoke anymore and so the drinking has slowed down to 5 beers this year and am proud of it ,but to each his own.GEEZE I MUST BE BORN AGAIN HAHA!!

St. Albans Man Charged in Assault

An alleged brutal beating over the weekend has landed a Franklin County, Vermont, man behind bars. According to the Sheriff's department the fight happened on Sheldon Road in St. Albans on Sunday. The responding officer found a 79-year-old man at his home with extensive facial injuries, but the man couldn't recall what happened.

After medical teams arrived, the officer saw a riding lawn mower covered in blood next door. There was also a large pool of blood, false teeth and a hat in the yard.

The property owner, Rick Bessette, 44, said he and the other man got into a fight while Bessette was mowing the lawn. He then pushed the man and punched him several times. Bessette faces aggravated assault charges. He's jailed for lack of bail.

These are neighbors up the road from me, the old gent has such bad knees that he uses two canes to walk likes to chop corn for us, the other idiot smashed a beer can in his face breaking both cheek bones

Your suppose to Respect your elders... Not beat them half to death.

He's probably nothing but a big bully and afraid of men his age.... I hope he stays in jail for a long time.

I used to
In summer I would mow 3-4 acres in the evening on our old 14HP ride-on mower.
Lucky no-one could see me riding around with no shirt on drinking bear, but that was some enjoyable mowing.

Now we have "upgraded" to an Everride Hornet zero-turn mower. Its faster, more powerfull engine, wider cleaner cut, but you have to use TWO hands

So no more beer for me

I took along a bottle of blackberry brandy.

During the winter I have used blackberry brandy as snakebite medicine. I must say that it works wonders, I haven't had to treat anyone for snakebite yet. However, that being said, putting in a new fence one winter, I had some friends to help, One was so afraid of snakes he fell astraddle over a 8" post laying on the ground. He continued to lay there until we were finished and helped him to the truck. We laugh about it still. We told him that it was to keep alert, not as a sleep aid.
