Do liquid fill tire expand?

Newbie question but I'm going nuts. Brand new JD 4066R with H 180 FEL and 485A backhoe. When delivered the backhoe was on the tractor. I took it off and put it back on several times just to make sure I could do it. I haven't used it since. I went to put it on today and could not insert the pins that attach the backhoe to the tractor . There simply wasn't room between the tires and the frame (Pins are about 1/2" -3/4" too long). The manual is clear that the pins are to be inserted from the outside. The only thing that I can figure is that after taking the backhoe off the last time I had Rim Guard installed into the rear tires (3/4 full). Would the tires expand that much? I certainly don't want to waste the Rim Guard but also need to use the backhoe. I'm not sure if I understand how they work but would wheel spacers add clearance between the tires and the frame?

Is it possible when the tires were installed after being filled with Rim Guard the were installed in narrower position?

Or installed backwards if they are the type that flip to change width. Filling the tires should not expand them

The tires were not removed. The installer came here with a tank on the back of his truck and pumped the Rim Guard in.

is your air pressure the same as before the tires were filled?

Let the tires down to 20psi and all should be good. :thumbsup:

Never notice any expansion on either of my machines.

many tractor rims. the center area were the bolts go through. is "offset" to one side. so you can swap tires around and either get a narrow overall width or a wider overall width. generally swapping tires side to side. to keep tread going in correct direction.

from looks in video the pins are not that long. just enough to stick through all of it and put on retainer clip.

The tires were not removed. The installer came here with a tank on the back of his truck and pumped the Rim Guard in.

It will have to remain a mystery then.

I'll double check the air pressure today. It had been at 24psi. I'll drop it to 20 psi.and try that
