Do it yourself Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

My entire unit is made in China LOL. And as you know, Many of these inverter units and components are sourced from China
I can speak of one major brand that I consider junk. They however have a unit that I've been impressed with per quality. That unit is 100% made in China. Go figure...

I have seen the same in most healthcare facilities. The red backup outlets don't seem to register with staff.

All the best,

Peter
Thats why we placed red placards next to the outlets . Didnt seem to stop anything.

Well, according to my sources with Gree, China will build any quality you spec.
Higher quality = higher price point. lower quality = lower price point.

So far, My Gree VRF (knock on wood) has been solid !

I remember when harbor freight sold junk for tools. As their tool quality got better, the price increased.
I have several HF tool sets, and they now, and they are pretty good tools.
I use some of their regular sockets with my impact for years and have never broken a socket

It's no different with Media.

They do a lot of work for major manufacturers located in the US.

However, the one brand I made the comment about was made by another company that I can never spell correctly. Ironically at least two American manufacturers I'm pretty familiar with use them to sell product under their own name.

And you're correct, it all comes down to price point vs the engineering and quality control (along with printed information available) on the product that gets shipped in.

Sometimes I just wish they would have Americans write the installation manual. Manuals that come from overseas can leave you scratching your head due to the translation.

Samsung IMO opinion doesn't make a bad HVAC product, and my understanding is everything is made in house in South Korea.

Samsung is now working directly with Lennox, no different than Mitsubishi with Trane / American Standard and Fujitsu with Rheem.

The reality however is the HVAC industry is becoming very incestuous pertaining to who is making what for who.

Do yourself a favor, and price out a jug of R454B :ROFLMAO:

Yes, Media makes mini splits with many different names attached to it.
You want a mini with Joe's HVAC name plate attached, Media will make it ! lol

If you use a R410A outdoor unit with a R454B air handler, with at least one brand, it will work (at least for the time being running on more than a couple of months now). Don't ask me how I know...That said, I highly doubt it would work the other way around.
