DK65C Glow Plugs

Hello

I have a DK65C that starts fine but when I turn the key to the "on" position the glow plug indicator bulb does not light up. How can I determine if it is just a bulb or if the glow plugs are not working?

There are a number of ways depending what tools you have.
1] Take the bulb out and test it using the tractors battery. One wire to the brass case of the base and one wire to the center post on the base. The wires go to the battery posts.

2] If you have a volt meter, set the scale to 20 volts and connect the Red led to the wire/buss that feeds the plugs and the Black led to frame ground. You should see about 12 v with the plugs activated.

Turn to on, wait 20 sec, if it starts promptly its not the plugs.

My '87 Japanese MF didn't even have a light and that was the procedure for starting it. Worked every time.

Since it starts fine, I would say you have a bad bulb.
