DK45 4n1 Valve

I found a DK45 locally that I've been in the process of getting a loan for, and it appears luckily, that is taking a few weeks. I closed on the loan yesterday and called the guy to arrange the transfer and he gives me the bad(good) news. He said the valve which controls the 4n1 bucket has a problem and after checking, it's supposed to cost close to a thousand to fix it. He said that's just the initial diagnosis, obviously not 100% sure that is the entire problem. Do you guys have any ideas what all this could involve problem wise and does this sound like what it would cost for repairs? Of course, the deal is on hold until it gets resolved.

$1000 to fix it, hunh? Sounds a bit hokey to me.

The 4-in-1 can be plumbed several ways, and the cost of a NEW valve
and hoses is less than $1000 from 4-in-1 bucket vendors, usually.

My earlier 2 tractors with 4-in-1s used a separate lever-operated spool
valve connected to the power beyond port of the FEL valve. The
valves are less than $100, and the hoses and fittings could cost another
$100. A full electric diverter setup might coast $500-750. Do a TBN
search and you will find numerous diverter installation stories.

Just a little more info, it is a WR Long bucket and valve set up.

I sell a brand new valve kit for $850, Now if he has to have a shop work on it there could be some labor cost involved
What kind of price are you getting on the tractor?

The price we agreed on is 16K even and he was throwing in a 7' scrape blade. The bucket is a 4n1 WR Long with a pretty big bucket. I know it's a bigger size because when I looked at it, he had a smaller bucket that he used for his Kubota on it at the time. My main question is whether it's likely the complete valve setup would need replacing or is it serviceable. From reading on here, it seems the price of the entire valve set up was around 5-600 bucks just for the parts. I could be completely wrong, but I started thinking he may have changed his mind or had someone offer him more money being as he was pretty reluctant to agree on the price, which is a thousand less than he was asking without the blade.

Update:
I called the manufacturer of the bucket and valve and he more or less told me it was unlikely the whole valve assembly would need replacing, and if it did, it would be a lot less than what the guy told me. After calling the seller back and grilling him for a little while, he basically admitted changing his mind about selling.
