I also did not have any problems starting the DK45 during the past two winter months. I purchased Shell Rotella T synthetic for the first engine oil change and hope that it does not prolong the fluid warm-up period. One thing that really helped the diesel engine was using AP Service diesel fuel additive. I called the factory for another issue and mentioned that the AP additive really helped. The Tech Rep said that the non-turbo DaeDong engines have a fixed advance and the additive helps lower rpm running. It might be beneficial to figure a way to keep the hydraulic fluid warm during those freezing nights, but there is too much mass involved. So far, so good.

My dealer didn't recommend a block heater for my 2554 when I bought it about 2000 or so, can't remember exactly, so I went without one until now. I'm having a lower hose heater installed while making my first repair, looks like the starter is shot. The new dealer has one on his. But I've never had a failure in several winters, and I can tell you, here at 9000' in the Rockies zero can be a heat wave in winter!

You can put a block heater in every Kioti tractor including the DK35 and the new 35se.
It goes in on the driver side in front of the starter in the soft plug.
