There was a small farm machinery show at Paducah, KY last weekend. I went to have a look at all the other tractors, but mainly went to see the DK 55 and the CK 20 (they were represented by Little Tractor of Metropolis). The DK 55 was a shap looking tractor. It (obviously) seems like a compromise between the DK 50 and DK 65 - in the terms that it had more cab space like the DK 65 but the overall size was more in line with the DK 50 (although it seemed a little wider). It was a really sharp tractor with the steeply sloped hood - oh no, is Massey Ferguson gonna sue because it has a sloped hood? Any way, the CK 20 was also a neat little machine - alot of steel and a good looking package.

The guys at the booth (James Little and a guy that worked for the Kioti Company whose name I can't recall) mentioned that Kioti might be bringing over their biggest tractors (85-90 HP) in near future and that there is some discussion about changing the LK 1994 and 2554 (did I get the model numbers right) into TLB models, like the Kubota B21 or L35, including a swivel seat and integrated backhoe, although it would still have 3 point capability.

Looks like we have some good things to look forward to.

Take it easy.

Just to clarify:

This weekend (Jan 24-25-26, 2003) is the Ohio Power Show

Ohio State Fairgrounds
717 East 17th Ave
Columbus, Ohio 43211

Among the many pieces of equipment on display will be the new prototype Kioti DK55 and the New CK20 with FEL.

I'm going shoppin'...

Thanks for the link, great pictures...Hopefully i'll be ordering a CK20 here in the next week or so.

As one who has probably used a 55 gallon drum of Armor All type products in my life on various cars and trucks, it still cracks me up to see shiny black tractor tires...

Sorry about that. Maybe I screwed up the Kioti designations so bad they are not recognizable. I think that the LK models (1914, 2554, 3054) were the earliest models imported to the states. A company that was otherwise mostly involved in haying equipment, Lely, was the orginal importer, so I think the LK evolved from Lely-Kioti. From what I gather, the parent company and manufacturer of Kioti tractors Daedong elected to take over their own importing and in doing this also decided to bring in the newer DK series (I thought DK might have been Daedong-Kioti). Unfortunately, the CK series throws my theories out the window, so their may not be any rhyme or reason to the prefix scheme.

As far as TLB, I believe that is a more or less universal acronym from Tractor-Loader-Backhoe. I think that Kubota used to make or still makes mini-TLBs, such as the B21 and L35. Without being too sharp about Kubota nomenclature, I would make a guess that the B21 is based on the B-series Kubota tractors and the L35 is based on the L-series tractors, but as to what specific model (if any) they are based on, I have no clue.

If anybody has any better explanation (especially if I am in error on any of the above), please feel free to correct me.

Nice looking tractor!! I wonder if the bigger ones will be getting that same look instead of the dud Kubota M series look?

The hoods sure look like the NH boomer style
(more law suits) :)

I see the :) but don't give 'em any ideas. (I'm sure they have enough of their own.) The lawsuits just translate into higher costs /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif for us, Joe Consumer/w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif. Re: DK 55 on Kioti Website now

Anyone notice the DK55 link on Kioti's website? Curious? Then click here!
Kind of weird since the tractor is badged as a "Daedong D500".
As you would expect from Kioti, it looks like another impressive unit.

Re: DK 55 on Kioti Website now

That looks like the overseas model to me. I think the US model will say DK55, and have orange wheels.

I also notice it has the same style lift arms that my 65 had. I swapped mine out to the more traditional arms with the eye socket.

Re: DK 55 on Kioti Website now

The arms on the DK 65 and DK 55 are all going to be changed to the traditional arms even field units were to been changed . I like the style that they had on them make three point hook up rather easy.

Re: DK 55 on Kioti Website now

The lift arms have indeed been changed and they include extendable lift arms as a standard item, a nice touch. Most companies make you pay for the option.

Re: DK 55 on Kioti Website now

PS,

I disagree. They look like they would be easier to hook up, but they were not. They would slide to one side or the other. I also think over time, they would wear out.

The new ones are much better!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
