Hi,
I've been eyeing up the CK35xx but started to think maybe I should go up in power a bit. That takes me to the cross over between CK and DK. DK45xx being around 20% more expensive that CK50xx.

As far as I can see the dimensions are similar. The engine looks the same. Could anyone give a quick run down on the differences? And anyone who decided one way or the other, what were the deciding points?

A quick look at 2 similar models on Kioti website...

The DK is heavier, wider, has more ground clearance, lifts more, has a higher top speed, etc. I compared 2 similar the ck4020seh and the dk 4220seh. Just plug in whatever you are comparing.

The DK series gives you a 16x16 transmission with hydraulic shuttle, while the DK is a 12x12 synchronized shuttle and dry clutch.

The DK series is about 15% bigger and heavier. It also has a wet clutch for the 4WD, which then gives you a switch to select between Auto - Off - On. In Auto it will engage the front axle when you press the brakes so you get braking action on all 4 wheels.

DK series has more hydraulic flow on the main pump, so faster hydraulics than the CK series.

This I can't confirm for Kioti 100%, but it may also be the case as the TYM F/15 series vs the 20 series. The 20 series (equivalent to the DK series) has helicoidal gears for the range gears, while the F/series series (equivalent to the CK series) has straight cut gears. Helicoidal gears are a lot quieter making for a overall quieter transmission.

I'm sure there are a lot more differences more noticeable when checking both models in person. Also, make sure you sit on both to get a feeling for how much space you have and all the controls.

Thanks, I'll see if they have a UK (or EU) version. The spec coming up on that link are quite a bit different to the UK models.

I've never run a DK, but my CK3510, while being a fine tractor, is not at all what I would call heavy duty. If you check the loader and 3pt lifting specs of the DK, it is in a different class. I got the CK used for a good deal and it is fine for me. But I'm always questioning my choices when these questions pop up. Feel free to ask me anything about by CK.
