disc mower or mower-conditioner?

/ disc mower or mower-conditioner? #21
Its fairly easy. If the ground is wet, you mow a swath and ted it out as soon as the ground starts to get dry (not the soil but the stubble and top crust). If the ground is fairly dry, you mow with it spread wide.

The following day you ted. If the weather is good, the 3rd day you will rake around 11 am or noon and start baling at 2 pm or so.

If the weather is fantastic, you can sometimes rake at about 5 pm on day 2 and bale right after until the dew falls at 7 or 8.

This all assumes a mower conditioner is used.

Without tedding it takes 5-7 days to dry hay here, which means it won't dry because 3 days without rain in the summer only happens 3 or 4 times.
