Direct TV vs Dish Network

/ Direct TV vs Dish Network #41
25 years ago if somebody told you that you'd be paying $187/mo for TV you would have said they were crazy. But before cell phones I think I paid $15/mo for phone (which included my dial-up connection to the internet).

This reminds me of the time about 35 years ago I stopped at convenience store with my grandfather and I brought him a bottle of water. He went home to my grandmother ranting that I was a idiot had more money than brains, I had paid someone 50 cents for a glass of water. He walk over and turned the kitchen facet on to run a few minutes and said there about $5.00 worth.

Lordy he would sit straight up from the grave if he seen some of this stuff today!

Follow up to my original post. I switched to Dish Network on Saturday. I got the Hopper 3 in the living room with a 4k Joey for the bedroom. First impressions, I made a good choice. I also bought an Amazon Echo that integrates with the Hopper for voice commands, it works very well. I called Direct TV and cancelled on Saturday also, they didn't seem overly concerned I was leaving them.

Your grandpa was right! I still can't believe it when I see someone paying for a bottle of ----->water!

My nephew worked at a bottled water plant, like he always said, "nothing spl. about it, except we get suckers to buy it!" lol

It reminds me of those I see drop their change, look down at it and walk away!

I'll stay on subject by saying, we STILL like Direct TV. lol

$90 a month is cheap entertainment. I can always find something worth watching. Go out to dinner and the movies one time and you have spent $100 +. Here's a few of my favorites to watch

The First 48
Joe Kenda Homicide Hunter
NHRA Drag Racing on FS1
The Goldberg's on ABC
What would you do with John Quiñones
Impractical Jokers
The Carbanero Effect

Just to name a few

The others :confused3:

None of the list does anything for me.

I also go to few movies, just don't like what they offer.

But i do like eating out!!

Well, you can choose to live under a rock, just don't ***** about it. Not all of us like the same things, that's what makes us unique. I love the Detective shows and the murder investigation stuff. And I will admit it, giving up my manhood here, but I watch DWTS with my wife. Those dancing chicks are nothing short of amazing and smokin hot.

Hope that wasnt aimed at me...I was just expressing my opinion, not knocking yours..

I also watch DWTS with my wife. Thats OTA, still free.

I have had Dish for 20 yrs now, mainly for sports.

I will admit, I was very reluctant to switch from Direct TV to Dish. But Direct finally pissed me off enough to switch. I couldn't be happier. The Hopper 3 is a fantastic DVR and the interface is very easy to use. I will also say that the Amazon Echo works very well with the Hopper 3.
