Traction Differential lock

That's good - now you will never forget which lever is which. OJT is all that is.

Using the steering brake to stop a spinning tire and put power to the other one like k0ua suggested is the way to go if you are in a panic or already spinning. The diff lock application should be a planned event before spinning occurs.

Agreed.

I don't believe you but here goes......somehow......... I got the brake release lever confused with the differential lock pedal. So all this time I've been stomping the s**t out of the brake release. It had to be my fogged up glasses....right?
Now you better keep your promise!!!

Ain't nobody laughing. It wouldn't be the first time someone misoperated their machine. Me included. Learn from it, help others learn from it and go on.

Still early.....

I guess I'll never need to worry about driving around with the brake on. But now I'll probable push on the DL to release the brake:duh:

You stepped on the "brake release"? What does that mean? On the left is the diff lock, then in and back some is the parking brake latch. On the right is the treadle and above that is the brake itself. We're you using the parking brake latch? To release the barking brake, you just stomp on the brake pedal hard, there is no other pedal to use to release the brake itself. Do we have a difference of terminology here?
Just wondering....

Let the dingleberry who wants everyone to think he has never made a mistake hurl the first insult. Then all the rest of us normal humans will laugh him out of the discussion. The fact it's not busted is something to celebrate.

Yep, I was pushing on the parking brake latch...... and I have no idea why! It just seems that I got focused on that latch and couldn't change my line of thinking. I really don't have any defense for doing that since I've had my BX for 6 yr. To be really honest, I'd probably still be struggling with the DL if I hadn't gone out to the garage and fired it up to do some testing. As I was pulling out of the garage I thought it was moving slower then it should (it wasn't, low rpm's) and pushed the latch to make sure the brake was off. That's when I had the AHA moment :duh:
These golden years ain't what I'd heard they'd be like, that's for sure. I got my Bozo for the day certificate on this one for sure.

Like the saying goes "Stupid is forever....Ignorance can be fixed"!

I'll claim ignorance on this one.

Thanks, but I would not blame anyone if I got the ole horse laugh over this one. My neighbor and fellow wrench has already taken care of that. I can't help but laugh at my own stupidity on this myself.
But like you said, it's not busted and that my friend, is a major relief.
