Hi All.

I have a B3000HSDCC. (Cab)

I have never had a diesel tractor with a cab. My previous tractor was a B2150.

I would like to know if it's "normal" to smell of diesel fumes after running the tractor for a couple of hours?

I mean the diesel (fume) odor is pervasive enough that I have to take my clothes off and wash them.... AND take a shower to get the smell/odor off of me.

I don't know if there are any sort of mitigation I can do to keep the odor to a minimum?

So... is it normal, and do I just have to get used to it?

Thanks !

Tractors used to have vertical exhaust pipes that shot the exhaust up in the air and it drifted away. My 2007 Kubota has the exhaust coming out sideways towards the front tire and fumes are pretty strong for the operator. You can't get on and off without walking through a cloud.
I wish someone made a vertical stack kit. It would be worth the price.

It is normal.

Even my BX2200 on a day when the wind is blowing in the right direction I get blasted with fumes.

I like the smell of diesel versus gas.

I'd rather smell of diesel fumes versus gas. Gas literally stinks.

Hard to describe -- then again, folks think I'm odd anyways.

Maybe all the diesel fumes?! LOL

Thanks. My B2150 had a vertical pipe that could be rotated 90 degree and make it horizontal. It gave you more clearance in an Orchard setting if you needed it.

The way the exhaust is now is as you said and all the fumes are low and blow on the front left wheel.

Kind of a dumb setup.

Thasnks again

It was a nice feature.

And yes, if someone eventually makes an adapter to make the exhaust on my B3000 vertical, I'd probably get it.

Hi diesel85,

Each to their own I say.

But I don't care for either smell.... gas or diesel.

It sounds like it's normal and I will just have to live with and be prepared to wash clothes and shower after some work on the tractor.

Oh well.....

Thanks for the info.

I’ve never noticed the stink after using the tractor and I’ve never been accused of stinking after using the tractor. Using the chainsaw is a different story.

Is it a smell of exhaust diesel or the smell of hot unburned diesel?
