60?ー 75?ー 6?イ
It looked fine on my screen until I did a preview and then it screwed up.
60ー 75ー 6イ deleted the extra characters out of these 3. did another preview and it put them back in.

I got the same thing when I tried to type in the pound sterling symbol.

Found that you could post it and then go back and edit it and get rid of the extra characters.

Yes I already tried a number of tings like that and it didn't work for me anymore.
Hazmat was hoping Muhammad would check it out.

OK... weirdness. I posted and got the funny symbols. I edited and they went away... hmmm.... I did the same thing both times ALT+0176 = °

And that time it worked. Now I can't get it to mess up again! If you get the messed up characters, edit it and try it again. Not sure what the deal is, but I can't get it to not look right! :)

° µ

Still thinking on this one... wanted to try something else to see what happened... ーF

Ah hah!!!! So when I do this in the "advanced" post screen I get this: ï½°

But when I edit or post in the "quick" post screen I get °

Yeah, I know, I'm quoting myself.... just wanted to see what happened here... ï½°

Edit: Now, maybe Muhammad will have more to go on and fix this. This also gives some insight into my mind - I'm one of those people that HAS to figure stuff out or it will bug me all night long. :)

Did you see how those quotes came out though?
I used to use Alt 248 for the degree sign. ?ー
Here is the Alt 0176. ー
What???
Question Mike...
Is this something that will be looked into or should I just forget about it?
Thanks,

Yep - the quote thing goes through the "Advanced" deal. Let me post this, then do a quick edit....

And now I should be able to use the special characters:
° µ ± ²

I hope they fix it, but at least there's a way to get it to work.

Not being an owner of the site, I have no idea whether it will be looked into. Perhaps Muhammad or Ibrahim will respond. It could be something easy to change/fix.

I expressed my own opinion earlier in this thread, i.e., of all the things people have asked be changed or added to this site, this would fall pretty far down the priority list, particularly since there's a work around, either the one mentioned earlier (use Advanced) or type the words out, e.g., degree. People have to realize we're typing into an HTML form, not a Word processor. Things that'd be simple in a word processor aren't so easy in HTML.

Okay, I'm gonna try this by forcing the Arial font: degree = コ

BTW: You should have said ALT+0176 where the "0176" is typed on the numeric keypad. It will not work if you use the numbers on the regular keypad.

EDIT: Well...Arial didn't help at all...hmm
