Deluxe Hood Guard

Could you get the expanded metal you used locally? What guage is it? Any other specs.

I like your design.

That looks good jimgerken! Does it still have the full travel in pivoting forward in order to open the hood?

Yea, the 12 gauge expanded was found locally. 12 gauge is about 0.105" thick. The entire gaurd still tilts forward just fine, but it is a bit tight to reach down in there to get to the latch. I can do it bare-armed, but not with a jacket on. More pics attached, 'cause we all love pics. The last pic is a top view, gaurd opened forward to access the hood, and before paint, which helps show it better.

That's a thing of beauty!! Well done. (If the rest of your shop is outfitted with other goodies on the scale of that pipe bender -- I'll be down around 9:00am! ) The floor mat is a nice touch, too.
