Just trailered my tractor home last night and this morning I went to drive it off the trailer and it won't start. It spins over just fine, so I assuming something fuel related, any ideas on where to start? The seat switch clicks, etc when pressed.

Did you try putting in a jumper-wire on the switch ?

I'd look at the fuel shutoff circuit. Is the arm at the injection pump moving when you turn the key to "on" and staying in when you turn the key to "start"? Could this be the famed thermistor bounced out of its socket from the trailer ride?

Please let us know what you find. I might need your info for my 4400 some day.

On another tractor web site I see that the Thermistor or the fuel solenoid are the two likely culprits. Will let you know.

What switch? It is cranking over so it would not be one of the safety switches...

When my seat switch went bad it would crank but not start... I could push down on the switch, or moves the wires around going to the switch, and then it would start.

HMMMM, That's interesting:confused:

My 4400 starts fine with me out of the seat. As soon as I touch the trans though it stalls unless I am in the seat. If I try to engage the PTO when I am not in the seat and the parking brake is not engaged it will quit. If I am off the seat, parking break engaged, I can engage the pto.

So... Not sure your starting issue has much to do with the seat switch!

I put the three dollar thermistor in and everything is back in business. If it acts up again i'll check into the fuel solenoid.
